Honestly, I've used social media for years but I feel the longer I spend on it, the more it makes me want to just remove myself from it altogether. Now, you ask, why would this be the case? It's mainly because of the issues it can cause in the long run. I see family feuds all over Facebook and Twitter and it just causes more problems. People getting blackmailed and videos which have ruined people's lives. Yes, it's great for communicating and keeping in touch but don't you think it has far more cons than pros?

You must also be aware of your personal information and pictures and your posts become public knowledge for all to see and use for the future.

In the USA now the immigration can ask for your cell phone and logins, so be aware of what you post.
Social media has done AMAZING things but I think this really depends on the individual. Plenty of people use social media responsibly but I know a percentage of people who do not. I would estimate that it is maybe 35%. These people use the platforms to scam others, spread hate, lie, cheat, and just basically be terrible people.
